Google yesterday has rolled out its offline support for gmail which is exactly the same way gmail already works on mobile phones such as android. For this you need to install Google Gears plug-in. After installing the Google Gears plug-in to your browser, Gmail detects when you are offline. It caches your e-mail so that you can read it, respond to it, search it, star it, or label it. When you are connected to the Internet again, it sends all the messages. You can even open attachments.
whereas the disappointing thing here is,Google which is known for giving multiple features( GMail labs ) for its product , were overtaken by their successor ” Zohomail ” who offered offline support late last year.At this time i thought its worth comparing both giants “googlemail and zohomail”.

Like Gmail, zohomail also supports Labels ,in addition to that it also supports folders which has its own advantage. The interface of Zoho mail is pretty good and loading fast but it doesn’t have option of switching to Basic HTML view like gmail .But the feature that i like most is conversations, where responses are listed hierarchically so that you can look at a conversation and visually see who responded to whom. I thought this is very useful and its not available in any webmail. It also has an integrated chat which is almost same like gmail which is integerated with other zoho Apps like zoho writer etc. It also offers features like Configuring multiple mail accounts from a single mail client, Mail preview at the bottom , Mail conversations using Conversation View and also Import Contacts from your Gmail and Yahoo accounts. Its also has tabbed interface which is quite similar to Yahoo Mail. After seeing all this features from zoho, in my opinion zoho stands ahead of gmail in features but not in market.
